Clamping justified after two-year wait

"PARK right, it's your civic duty" (Local Counsel, July 4) refers. I fully agree with the sentiments but you need prompt enforcement in places like Taman Pekaka, Sungai Dua, Penang to resolve parking woes.
It has been more than two years now that the main road to the Taman has been lined by cars parked on both sides of the main thoroughfare, reducing it to a "single" lane. This makes driving difficult and hazardous.
The cars are parked under "No Parking" signs on both sides of the road. At some points there are also signs warning of "Clamping".
The traffic violation is clear and evident but no action has been taken.
The signs are mere "decorations" that no one seems to heed including the authorities despite many complaints.
It has been many months since the wakil rakyat came with his entourage to "solve" the problems but it is still status quo.
It's our civic duty, however, when that fails the authorities must act immediately to set matters right.
Two years is long enough for any form of action as a course of public duty.
What happens then when even the authorities and wakil rakyat also fail to act accordingly?
