CNY discounts at LDP, Sprint, Smart Tunnel, and LSA highways

KLANG: Four highways under Gamuda Group will be offering a toll discount of up to 60 sen in conjunction with the Chinese New Year celebration which is expected to benefit more than 650,000 road users.
The highways involved are Lebuhraya Shah Alam (LSA), Lebuhraya Damansara-Puchong (LDP), Sprint and Smart Tunnel Highway.
The discounted toll rate will be given to the users of LSA, LDP and Sprint starting from 12am to 11.59pm on Feb 16.
While for Smart Tunnel, the discounted rate will be offered from Feb 10 to 11, starting from 6am.
The breakdown of the discounted rate:
>> LSA - 20sen discount (class 1 vehicle only)
>> LDP - 60sen discount (All class vehicle)
>> Sprint - 20sen discount (All class vehicle)
>> Smart Tunnel - 30sen discount (class 1 and 4 vehicle)
Litrak chief executive officer Sazally Saidi in making the announcement said the discounted rate would involve an estimated subsidised amount of almost RM300,000.
He said the discounted rate for the Smart Tunnel was provided a week earlier to accommodate shoppers in preparation for the festival.
"We understand the need for travel during the festive season. Thus, we hope through this incentive, it can help to lessen the burden of paying toll," he said after attending a charity community programme at the Sentosa Nursing Home here.
He said since 2010 to last year, almost 19 million users had benefitted from the toll incentive provided at LDP and Sprint, with a total amount of more than RM12 million.
On the community programme at the Sentosa Nursing Home, Sazally said the initiative was jointly held with Kesas, Litrak, Sprint and Smart as part of their corporate social responsibility programme.
He added that more than 30 volunteers took part in the programme to clean and repair the home.
"We have spent more than RM30,000 to carry out the programme for the benefit of 27 Chinese senior citizens residing at the home," he said.
