KUALA LUMPUR: Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) has spent about RM10 million on beautification works in conjunction with Kuala Lumpur SEA Games (KL2017) next month.
Kuala Lumpur Mayor Datuk Seri Mhd Amin Nordin said they include the cleaning of roads and routes to the games venues, sprucing up buildings and putting up signages and flags.
"The beautification works are near completion," he told reporters at Kuala Lumpur Open House at KL City Gallery today.
Mhd Amin said DBKL had reserved 40 hotels for the SEA Games athletes.
About 1,000 local and foreign tourists attended Kuala Lumpur Open House organised by DBKL and Kuala Lumpur Tourism Bureau (KLTB).
Meanwhile, KLTB executive officer Muhammad Ardi Zahiruddin said the fourth such event organised for tourists was to highlight the tradition of Malaysian society when celebrating Aidilfitri.
"The tourists were served with more than 50 types of traditional food and entertained with traditional dances and music, traditional sport such as sepak raga ratus and dodol making." — Bernama
