Destini slapped with IRB lawsuit over RM6.58m tax bill

    PETALING JAYA: Destini Bhd is being sued by the Inland Revenue Board (IRB) over RM6.58 million in outstanding tax payments including penalties for the year of assessment of 2016.
    Destini told Bursa Malaysia that it has been served with a writ of summon and statement of claim by IRB on behalf of the Malaysian government issued by the High Court of Malaya in Shah Alam.
    Destini has 14 days from the day of receipt of the summon to serve its appearance. The case management for the suit has been fixed for May 21.
    While the company is not expecting to incur any further losses from the summons, it is seeking the necessary legal advice to resolve and or defend itself in this suit.
    Destini shares gained 7.5% to close at 43 sen with some 5.6 million shares done.
