Drugs worth RM150k seized, two suspects nabbed

GEORGE TOWN: Police have seized drugs worth RM158,800 and arrested two suspects in a drug bust at an apartment unit in Relau on Sunday night.
Northeast district police chief ACP Anuar Omar said the suspects aged 33 and 34 were arrested at 9pm.
Anuar said police seized 4,391g of heroin, 383g of heroin base, 35,500g of caffeine powder and drug processing apparatus.
He said further investigation led them to a home of one of the suspects where police seized 53g of syabu and RM3,500 cash.
Anuar said both suspects tested positive for drug use and have prior criminal records.
He said the suspects have been remanded until Jan 28 for investigations under the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
"We are still trying to ascertain if there are other accomplices," Anuar told a press conference today.
