Flood: More people evacuated in Kota Belud

    KOTA KINABALU: The number of evacuees due to the floods in Kota Belud has increased to 2,132 people as at 11am today, from 2,113 evacuees last night.
    A statement issued by the Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM) in Sabah said the evacuees were at eight relief centres in the district, namely, Dewan Masyarakat Tun Said, Dewan SMK Agama Tun Said, Dewan SMK Taun Gusi 1, Dewan SMK Taun Gusi 2, Dewan SK Taun Gusi, Dewan Gopok Taginambur, Dewan Muhibah Tombol and Dewan SK Pekan.
    The floods affected 26 villagers and inundated eight road stretches, which are now closed to all vehicles.
    In Tuaran, the number of flood victims has dropped to 236 people, from 288 previously.
    They are being accommodated at the relief centres at Masjid Kampung Bunga Tenghilan and SMK Sri Nangka.
    The floods in the district affected 14 villages and submerged Jalan Tinambak. — Bernama
