SAMSUNG Malaysia Electronics recently unveiled a television model that would please any interior decorator, with features that fit seamlessly into a luxurious lifestyle.
No stranger to making innovative televisions, Samsung's latest is called The Frame which instantly transforms the television screen into a work of art.
Pushing the boundaries of traditional TV, The Frame provides homeowners more than just a screen to enjoy their favourite entertainment programmes – it is also a statement piece likening the home to an upscale art gallery.
Samsung Malaysia Electronics consumer electronics head Jimmy Tan said at the launch: "To showcase the integration of art, design and technology, we are pleased to collaborate with interior design firms such as Nu Infinity, Santa Fe Interior Architecture, and Surface R to demonstrate how seamless and effortlessly The Frame fits into any décor – be it modern contemporary, industrial, or minimalist".
Also present at the launch were Samsung Malaysia Electronics president Lee Sang Hoon, chief marketing officer Elaine Soh, audio visual head Vincent Lee, and audio visual business manager Kim Jin Ho.
The Frame is a new lifestyle TV that will beautify any living space.
Through its Art Mode feature, instead of fading to black when powered off, The Frame display transforms into bespoke work of art.
It can display 100 exclusive works of art by 37 renowned designers. Additional artwork can be added through an RM21.99 monthly subscription service.
This feature can also showcase photos, effectively turning the TV into a digital picture frame. The photos can also be uploaded to The Frame via a dedicated app.
The Frame can be customised with a range of frame options including walnut, beige wood, and white, providing users with the flexibility to match their TV to their home's interior design.
There is also a built-in brightness sensor within The Frame, which lets the TV automatically change its brightness level to match the ambient light.
According to Samsung, it only requires 15 minutes to mount the TV on the wall, thanks to the No Gap Wall-mount, a universal mount system built into the back of the TV.
When hung flush against the wall, The Frame looks like a real picture frame. The illusion is kept using the Invisible Connection, an external box that contains all of The Frame's ports.
The Frame is available in 55in and 65in models from Aug 15. The 55in model will retail for RM9,999, and the 65in model will retail for RM14,999.
Each TV comes with a seven-month free subscription to The Frame's exclusive library of artworks.
