Kampung Bukit Berlian evacuees return home as flood situation improved fully

MALACCA: The flood situation in Kampung Bukit Berlian, Klebang has improved fully and the temporary relief centre at Sekolah Kebangsaan Taman Bukit Rambai was closed at 2pm.
Malacca Disaster Management Committee Secretariat (JPBN) Head Lt Kol (PA) Effendy Ali said 46 evacuees from five families, who were housed at the temporary relief centre, were allowed to return to their homes.
"The weather today is good and the flood waters have receded, but we are taking precautions and constantly monitoring the situation," he said in a statement today.
Effendy, who is also the state Civil Defence Force director, said the flood was believed to have been caused by heavy rain at 11am yesterday. — Bernama
