ALOR STAR: The number of flash flood victims in Kampung Sungai Tepus in Bandar Baru near Kulim evacuated to relief centres has risen to 65 from 16 families as of 8pm tonight.
Kulim Civil Defence Force officer Lieutenant Mohd Fadhil Fahmi Zaini said all the victims were placed at Sekolah Kebangsaan Sungai Kechil Ulu.
"We are working with the relevant agencies to continue monitoring the flood situation from time to time," he told Bernama when contacted tonight.
Heavy rain since today afternoon had caused the water level to rise, affecting 100 residents in 32 homes in the village. — Bernama
