GEORGE TOWN: Penang Gerakan Acting Youth head Jason Loo plans to challenge the three legal suits slapped on him by the legal team of Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng on grounds of possible defamation.
Loo said the three legal suits were about the press conferences held by him over the issue of a private hospital project in Peel Avenue, which were carried by three Chinese vernacular newspapers here.
He said he will conduct a discussion with his lawyer to strike out the three legal suits.
Loo promised that he will fight until his last breath to protect the interest of Penangites.
He claimed that the DAP — led Penang government had sold a number of plots in the last 10 years which have been published in the mass media as well as in official state bulletins.
"There are a few pieces of land in Taman Manggis, Bayan Mutiara, Batu Kawan, Gurney Drive, Bayan Lepas, Permatang Damar Laut, Bayan Bay, Juru, Bukit Minyak, Pulau Jerejak, and Peel Avenue which were sold to the developers," said Loo.
Loo questioned what will happen to the average wage earner when the state land which actually belongs to the people are sold off to developers to build high density apartments or condominiums which only the rich can afford.
