Lorry rams into road divider after driver suffered heart attack

IPOH: A lorry went out of control and rammed into a road divider after the driver suffered a heart attack at Km278.1km of the North South Expressway north bound near here today.
Ipoh City police chief ACP Sum Chang Keong said the driver identified as B. Perumal, 49, from Kulai, Johor died at the scene of the accident.
The lorry was on its way up north from Johor when the accident occurred at about 6.24am.
Firemen were summoned to extricate the body from the wreckage.
Meanwhile in another accident along the same stretch at Km289 near the Simpang Pulai Rest and Recreation area a trailer loaded with plastic resins skidded and overturned at 6.45am resulting in a massive traffic jam and police having to divert vehicles into the Gopeng exit.
The driver escaped with just facial injuries.
