KUANTAN: Lynas Corporation Ltd. (Lynas) is willing to cooperate with any committee established to look into the factory operations and environmental pollution issues at the Gebeng Industrial Estate here.
Its chief executive officer Amanda Lacaze said this was because the factory had been operating in the country in a transparent manner and in accordance with the rules set.
"We will cooperate with anyone including the appointed special committee, as we have complied with all licence conditions which will confirm that the plant had been operating safely not only for the community and workers but also for the environment," she told reporters at a Lynas Aidilfitri gathering here today.
Amanda said the company was proud of the performance of the plant since its inception 10 years ago.
Recently, anti-Lynas groups have urged the Pakatan Harapan (PH) government to set up a special committee to review the licensing and operations of the Lynas rare earth processing plant. — Bernama
