Motorcyclist, pillion rider perish in Beluran-Telupid road accident

    BELURAN: Two men were killed after their motorcycle collided with a four-wheel-drive vehicle at KM53, Beluran-Telupid Road yesterday.
    Beluran District police chief Supt Sivanatan Velautham said, in the incident around 3.20pm, the motorcyclist Sudirman Muhammad Tamir, 27, and pillion rider known only as Fendi, who did not have any identification document, died at the scene.
    He said initial investigations revealed that the motorcycle was heading to Sandakan from Telupid while the 4WD, a Nissan Navara driven by a policeman was heading to Sapi from Sandakan.
    The policeman who is based at Beluran Police Headquarters was unhurt; the remains of the two men were sent to Beluran Hospital for post-mortem, he said in a statement today. — Bernama
