MALACCA: Malacca Opposition Leader Khoo Poay Tiong (DAP-Ayer Keroh) has been suspended from attending the state assembly sitting today, after he caused a fracas and disrupted the question-and-answer session .
Deputy Speaker Datuk Ab Wahab Ab Latif made the decision after Khoo persisted in interrupting Chief Minister Datuk Seri Idris Haron who was answering a question on the issue of land embezzlement in Kelantan where the victim was a farmer.
Khoo heckled Idris provocatively and threw irrelevant questions when the latter was answering a question from Goh Leong San (Independent -Duyong) on the development pertaining to the Tanjung Minyak 276/17 police report on the land case.
"The actions were very insolent and disrupted the question-and-answer session, and I made the decision to eject the Ayer Keroh state assemblyman (Khoo) who was stubborn about (not obeying) the order," said Ab Wahab.
Earlier, Datuk Md Yunos Husin (BN-Ayer Molek) proposed the action and was supported by Datuk Ghazale Mohamad (BN-Rim) as Khoo had caused the question-and-answer session to be disrupted for more than 15 minutes. — Bernama
