Pahang Regent attends funeral rites of Paya Besar MP

KUALA LUMPUR: The Regent of Pahang, Tengku Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah, today attended the funeral rites at the Al-Hidayah Mosque in Taman Melawati here, for Paya Besar MP Datuk Seri Abdul Manan Ismail who died on Monday.
The prayers were led by Abdul Manan's only son Mohd Hannan.
Among the others who attended the funeral rites were Pahang Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Adnan Yaakob, Deputy Transport Minister Datuk Seri Ab Aziz Kaprawi, Deputy Defence Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Johari Baharum and Felda chairman Tan Sri Shahrir Abd Samad.
Abdul Manan was buried at the Klang Gates Muslim Cemetery at 11.30am.
He died at his home in Taman Melawati at 6.45pm the day before, following a heart attack. He was 70.
The chairman of the Intellectual Property Corporation of Malaysia (myIPO) leaves behind wife Datin Seri Rohizah Ahmad, six children and 12 grandchildren.
Rohizah, 65, said her husband had been complaining lately of being tired and unable to sleep.
"I advised him to go for a medical examination but he declined due to much work at the office.
"But Alhamdullilah, I was able to fulfill his request to eat his favourite dish, asam pedas ikan pari and banana fritters. He really had a good appetite having the asam pedas for lunch yesterday," she told reporters here. — Bernama
