ALOR STAR: A Penang PAS youth delegate today slammed the Penang state government over the proposed reclamation project on the southern coast of the island.
Bagan PAS division information chief Muhammad Hafiz Alias (pix), said the reclamation project would affect 300 fishermen and their families who would lose their source of income.
"The state government said the reclamation project was to overcome the traffic congestion problem in the state.
"But instead of solving the problem, they created another problem," he said while debating the youth wing's keynote address at the 58th PAS youth Muktamar at the Kedah PAS Complex today.
Muhammad Hafiz also criticised DAP and Pakatan Harapan for participating in ceramah and roadshow campaigns with former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
"They are busy with saving Malaysia, but who wants to save Penang, who wants to save our land," he said.
He also berated PKR Penang state assembly representatives, especially Batu Maung state assemblyman Datuk Abdul Malik Abul Kassim for not doing anything to protect the interest of the Malays who voted for him.
He also claimed that DAP and PKR did not protect the interest of Islam in the state.
"That is why we in Penang have no regret to break the tahaluf siyasi (political cooperation) with PKR, even though the decision is not a normal one," he said.
