Perodua service adviser claims trial to stealing over RM6,000

KUALA LUMPUR: A Perusahaan Otomobil Kedua Sdn Bhd (Perodua) service adviser pleaded not guilty in the Ampang Magistrate's Court here today to 13 counts of stealing more than RM6,000 belonging to her employer.
Nurul Wahida Yaakob, 30, made the plea after all the charges were read out to her in two courts before Magistrates Mohamad Firdaus Sadina Ali and Haslinda A. Raof.
On the first count to the 13th, the woman was alleged to have stolen the cash totalling RM6,709 belonging to Dasuki Motors Sdn Bhd (Perodua Authorised Parts & Service Dealer) at the company premises in Batu 7 3/4, Jalan Hulu Klang, Hulu Langat, between January 2017 and January 2018.
All the charges under Section 381 of the Penal Code carries a maximum jail term of seven years and fine, upon conviction.
Prosecution was conducted by deputy public prosecutors Norhashimah Hashim and Raihanah Abdul Razak while the accused who was unrepresented appealed for a lower bail on the grounds that she was now unemployed and had no source of regular income.
The court set bail at RM14,000 for all 13 charges and fixed March 28 for mention. — Bernama
