Police nab six teens for robbery

SUBANG JAYA: Police nabbed six teenagers aged between 15 and 17 on Monday after they allegedly broke into a convenience store and got away with cigarettes and cash in an industrial area near Taman Puchong here.
Subang Jaya district deputy police chief Supt Choo Lily said the incident took place on Sunday and the shop owner subsequently lodged a police report.
"According to the owner, the robbers took RM1,000 in cash and cigarettes worth RM3,000. Police detained six individuals at separate locations here on Monday," she said today.
She said the youths were brought to the Bukit Puchong police station for the next course of action.
They admitted their offence and the case is being investigated under Section 457 of the Penal Code for trespassing.
Meanwhile, in a separate case, two men were arrested on Monday for robbing a man at the parking lot of the Subang Parade mall here.
Choo said in the March 1 incident, the duo, aged 27 and 30, were arrested around 2pm here.
"Police detained the duo after a Subang Parade security guard alerted the police to report the robbery in progress.
Police also seized four mobile phones from them.
She said the two suspects later admitted to committing the robbery.
One of the suspects has a previous record from 2016 for criminal intimidation.
