PETALING JAYA: Kepong MP Lim Lip Eng has filed a police report against 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) CEO Arul Kanda Kandasamy for allegedly making false statements on the financial status of the company.
He called for action to be taken against Arul Kanda under Section 202 and 203 of the Penal Code for intentional omission and giving false information.
"He had repeatedly said that the company was not bankrupt and would be able to pay off its debts through a rationalisation plan," Lim was quoted by The Star as saying.
"But recently, two 1MDB directors said that the company was insolvent and unable to repay its debts."
The DAP also lodged a police report today calling for the Altantuya Shaariibuu murder case to be reopened.
Lim said a fresh investigation was needed to find out the motive behind the killing of the Mongolian woman, who was shot and her body blown up in a jungle near Shah Alam in 2006.
