Real Madrid deny making world-record bid for Mbappe

Real Madrid issued a statement on Wednesday to deny reports that they had made a world-record-breaking offer for France's World Cup star Kylian Mbappe.
Various media in France published stories on Wednesday claiming Real Madrid had bid 270 million euros for the Paris Saint-Germain forward.
The statement published on the club's website said: "Given the information published in the last few hours regarding an alleged agreement between Real Madrid C.F. and PSG for the player Kylian Mbappe, Real Madrid would like to state that it is completely false.
"Real Madrid has not made any offer to PSG or the player and condemns the spreading of this type of information that has not been proven by the parties concerned."
Mbappe became the first teenager to score two goals in a World Cup finals game since Pele in 1958 when his braced helped France beat Argentina in the last 16.
PSG signed the player on loan from Monaco last summer promising to make the signing permanent for 185m euros this summer. Real Madrid also issued a statement on Sunday to deny stories they had bid for PSG's Brazilian forward Neymar.
The two bid stories have come in the same week that UEFA announced that their decision to clear PSG of financial fair play irregularities will be reviewed. European football's governing body cleared the club after an investigation that began in September 2017.
However, the chairman of UEFA's club financial control body said on Tuesday that the decision to close the investigation will now be reviewed.
