Richard Riot's pistol found in Wisma Seberkas

KUCHING: A semi-automatic Smith-and-Wesson gun, which was found in a toilet in Wisma Seberkas last Wednesday, has been confirmed as belonging to Serian Member of Parliament Datuk Seri Richard Riot Jaem.
Sarawak CID chief SAC Denis Leong Soo Kuai said police confirmed that the pistol belonged to Riot after receiving a report of its loss and investigated the matter.
"Further investigations are being carried out and a statement obtained from Datuk Seri (Richard Riot), the case is being investigated under Section 35 of the Arms Act 1960," he said when contacted today.
Last Wednesday, a supervisor at Wisma Seberkas lodged a police report after a pistol and six bullets were found in a toilet in the building at about 8pm.
A police team then rushed to the location and the pistol was brought back to police station for further investigations to identify its owner. — Bernama
