RM13.25m allocation to relocate SJKT Jalan Tajul in Kota Tinggi

KUALA LUMPUR: The Education Ministry has allocated RM13.25 million for the relocation of the Tamil national type school (SJKT) Jalan Tajul in Kota Tinggi, Johor to a new location, said Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr S. Subramaniam.
Dr S. Subramaniam, who is also MIC president, said the location of the new school is about one kilometre from the original site and comprised a new building of 12 classrooms and other facilities.
"The construction of the new building under the Relocation Plan will increase the number of pupils in the school from 205 pupils at present.
"I'm confident with the new building, the pupils and staff of the school will be able to enjoy a more efficient learning environment," he told reporters after presenting the Letter of Acceptance for the construction of SJKT Jalan Tajul here today.
Dr Subramaniam said the school is expected to be fully ready by 2019 at the latest.
So far 524 SJKTs had been built nationwide with seven in the construction stage, including one that is 90 per cent completed, he added.
