Sabah Comm: Don't speculate over death of Warisan division chief

KUALA LUMPUR: Police have warned the public not to speculate on an accident involving a 56-year-old politician near a restaurant in Bandar Utama, Sandakan.
Sabah police commissioner Datuk Ramli Din confirmed to theSun when contacted that action will be taken against those spreading fake news which may disrupt the peace in the run-up to GE14.
In the 9.30am incident today, Parti Warisan Sabah's division chief for Libaran, Aris Malayu, 56, was killed while having breakfast with a friend when a sports utility vehicle (SUV) ploughed into him.
The 61-year-old driver, accidentally stepped on the accelerator while parking her vehicle at the parking spot, crashing into Aris who was seated at the table opposite of the vehicle.
The paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.
The post-mortem results showed that he died from broken ribs which pierced his heart.
Source told theSun that the driver was not under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident, but a blood sample was taken for assessment
Aris is not a candidate for GE14.
