Safe kids Malaysia UPM wins excellence in communication award

KUALA LUMPUR: Safe Kids Malaysia Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) won the Excellence in Communication Award, beating more than 400 coalitions from more than 30 countries.
UPM's Safe Kids Malaysia executive director Assoc Prof Dr Kulanthayan KC Mani said the award was handed over by Acting President and Chief Executive Officer of Safe Kids Worldwide, Torine Creppy, at Safe Kids Worldwide Convention in Baltimore, United States last Thursday.
"The award was given in recognition of the media outreach on communicating child health and safety information with the community effectively by combining both traditional and the social media," he told Bernama when contacted today.
The four-day convention, which began last Wednesday was also attended by Chief Marketing Officer of Safe Kids Worldwide Martha Wilcox.
Last April, Safe Kids Malaysia UPM was recognised globally, alongside another two organisations from South Africa and one from West Africa, which were the receipients of the FedEx Road Safety Award 2017 by Global Alliance of Non-governmental Organisations (NGOs) for Road Safety.
The award was given to three global organisations for their outstanding performance in driving road safety in their respective countries. — Bernama
