SHAH ALAM: The Selangor state executive councillors (excos) from PAS have reiterated that they are still with the state administration because they were given the mandate in the 13th General Election (GE13).
PAS's senior state executive councillor in Selangor Datuk Iskandar Abdul Samad said that they were remaining in the state government to ensure stability in Selangor in the wake of rumours flying around on the status of the Islamic party in the state government helmed by Mentri Besar, Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali.
The PAS Excos would carry out their duties as normal for continued smooth running of the state, he said in a statement here today.
The were widespread calls during PAS's general assembly last month for the party to break ties with Mohamed Azmin's party PKR. However, the final decision on this lies with PAS's Syura Council (the highest decision making body in the party).
The PKR-DAP-PAS pact is power in Selangor. However, PAS and DAP have since severed ties.
All three parties have three Excos each. The other PAS Excos are Datuk Dr Ahmad Yunus Hairi and Zaidy Abdul Talib. — Bernama
