Seven-day remand order for suspect in murder of 3 siblings

BAGAN DATUK: Police have obtained a seven-day remand order against a 35-year-old man who ran amok and killed three siblings.
Four others were also injured in the incident in Kampung Sungai Haji Muhammad in Rungkup here yesterday.
At the Teluk Intan court, Magistrate Syahdatul Kamila Zakaria granted the order for police to facilitate investigations under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
The man who is believed to be suffering from hallucination killed the children and inflicted injuries on their mother and three others.
The deceased were identified as Nur Ziah Fasihah Mohd Fadzil, two, Muhammad Firash Zaffril, three, and Mohammad Faqhqih Zahirulhaq, five, who died at the scene in the 2.30pm incident.
The man also slashed and injured four other people, namely the siblings' mother Zuraidah Md Ali, 35, their elder sister Nur Zurin Faziera, nine, a pupil identified as Aina, also nine, and a teacher identified as Ustaz Ridzuan, 40, he said.
The suspect who is a maintenance worker in a government agency was arrested about 45 minutes after the incident at Sekolah Kebangsaan Sungai Haji Muhammad, not far from the home of the victims.
