The Soorya India Festival celebrates the arts and philanthropy

SOORYA is a leading stage and film society, functioning with its headquarters in Trivandrum, the capital of Kerala, the southernmost state of India.
For 40 years they have been holding the Soorya Festival in India and the Malaysian chapter has been holding the Soorya Indian Festival for the past ten years.
"The main purpose is with a mission of delivering vibrant, youthful, value-oriented productions and music awareness of our youth. It also serves to foster stronger, deeper bonds between the maestros of India and the music, dance and art lovers of Malaysia," said Lenny Roopa Sukumaran a committee member, assisting in promotion for the Soorya Indian Festival 2018.
The artistes invited to perform at Soorya Festival are exponent and authentic classical, traditional, folk and contemporary music and dance artistes.
"This year, Soorya India Festival 2018 in Collaboration with Indian Cultural Centre will showcase a cross-section of India's rich cultural heritage in a spectacular celebration of Indian Classical Dance featuring Indian artistes Dr Janaki Rengarajan a Bharatanatyam exponent and Pandit Rajendra Gangani a Kathak exponent along with Malaysian artistes Mohammad Khairi and Xin Ying who will both be performing Bharathanatyam from Aswara Arts Academy.
The proceeds will be donated towards 'Cansurvive Centre Malaysia Berhad, a non-profit organisation that provides guidance and compassionate community support for cancer patients and their family."
Soorya Indian Festival 2018 will be held on March 11 at 7.30pm at Shantanad Auditorium, Temple Of Fine Arts, Brickfields, Kuala Lumpur.
