Teacher in leaked UPSR papers case to enter defence

PUTRAJAYA: A Tamil school teacher, who was acquitted of a charge relating to leaked UPSR examination papers, was ordered to enter defence by the Court of Appeal today.
L. Subbarau was charged under Section 8(1) of the Official Secrets Act (OSA) 1972, over possession of images of leaked UPSR examination papers 2014.
He was charged with five counts of possession of Mathematic Paper 1 and Paper 2, Tamil (Comprehensive), Tamil (Writing) and Science, which were allegedly found in his handphone.
A Sessions Court in Seremban had acquitted Subarao in April 2015.
An appeal against the discharge and acquittal was dismissed in the High Court on Sept 5, 2016.
