SEREMBAN: All parties in the supply chain – from producers and suppliers to wholesalers and retailers – must keep all their business transaction documents at least for a period of seven years to facilitate the inspection process by the Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Ministry.
Negri Sembilan Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Ministry director Ain Arjuna Aziz Zaman said the business transaction documents included the production as well as the sale and purchase records of an item.
"A comprehensive inspection will be conducted on all business transaction records (of all parties in the supply chain) to ensure traders comply with the Price Control and Anti-Profiteering (Mechanism to Determine Unreasonably High Profit) Regulations 2016 and prevent unreasonable price hikes.
"For example in today's operation, we check through invoices from 2015," he told reporters after the enforcement operation code-named Op Catut 4.0 here today.
Meanwhile, Ain Arjuna said the state Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Ministry had issued 55 notices under Section 21 of the Price Control and Anti-Profiteering Act 2011 from Jan 1 until last Saturday. — Bernama
