Two charged with drug trafficking and possession of methamphetamine

AYER KEROH: Two men were charged in the Magistrate's Court here today on charges of drug trafficking and possession of methamphetamine, and methylenedioxy methamphetamine (MDMA), last month.
No plea was recorded after the charge was read before Adnan Mohamad Izzat, 30, and Khairol Fadly Johari, 33, before Magistrate Analia Kamaruddin.
Based on the first count, both accused were charged with trafficking in 51gm of methamphetamine at Jalan Masjid Ujong Pasir around 11.30pm on April 18.
They were charged under Section 39B (1) (a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 which is punishable under Section 39B (2) of the same Act and read with Section 34 of the Penal Code which carries the mandatory death sentence, upon conviction.
On the second count, they were charged with possession of MDMA type 3 and 4 weighing 6.7gm at the same location, time and date.
For the offence, they were charged under Section 12 (2) of the Dangerous Drugs Act which is punishable under Section 12 (3) of the same act read together with Section 34 of the Penal Code which carries a maximum jail term of five years and a fine not exceeding RM100,000 or both.
Analia set June 7 for mention.
