UEM Edgenta shares jump 8.97% on higher Q4 earnings

PETALING JAYA: UEM Edgenta Bhd's share price jumped 21 sen or 8.97% this morning, after its net profit jumped 19 fold for the fourth quarter ended Dec 31, 2017.
At 11.15am, the stock, which was among the top gainers, stood at RM2.55 with 1.87 million shares changing hands. It has a market capitalisation of RM2.19 billion.
The group made a net profit of RM324.8 million for the fourth quarter, compared with RM16.5 million previously, on RM271.8 million gain from the disposal of its 61.2% stake in Opus International Consultants Limited (OIC) in early December.
It has announced a special dividend of 18 sen and an interim dividend of five sen for the quarter, bringing total dividend payout for the year to 31 sen.
