NIBONG TEBAL: Work to upgrade and repair the staff quarters at the Sungai Bakap Hospital here was completed in two months according to Deputy Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Hilmi Yahaya.
He said the RM40,000 project started on Feb 27 and was completed two months later under the National Blue Ocean Strategy (NBOS).
He said the NBOS initiative had also helped the government save money as the market price would be RM70,000.
"This has helped us save 40% of the cost," he said when visiting the site opposite the hospital today.
Hilmi said a total of RM650,000 was allocated under the NBOS to upgrade and repair 56 hospital staff quarters at 10 locations nationwide.
He said 40 hospital staff quarters have been upgraded and repaired since the beginning of this year and the remaining 16 are expected to be completed by the end of the year.
