(Video) Police arrest man in Tanjung Tokong slash and rob case

GEORGE TOWN: Police have detained a man in connection with a slash and rob incident on Monday evening.
Northeast district deputy police chief Supt V. Saravanan said the suspect was detained on Wednesday near here.
He said police were now on the hunt for another suspect as two men are believed to be responsible for the incident.
“We have detained one suspect,” he told theSun, adding the case was investigated for causing hurt in committing robbery under the Penal Code.
During the 8pm incident, two men had pushed a woman to the ground outside a restaurant in Tanjung Tokong here before trying to snatch her bag.
The husband of the woman intervened to save his wife but was slashed in the back with a knife.
Both the suspects then fled the scene empty handed.
A video of the incident has since surfaced on social media where it shows a woman suddenly crashing through the doors of the restaurant.
She is quickly followed by a man who is seemed to be trying to protect her while passers-by and patrons rushed to the scene to see what happened in the two-minute video.
