Woman jailed, fined for theft at Sogo

KUALA LUMPUR: An unemployed woman with two young children was sentenced to four days' jail and fined RM2,500, in default three months' jail, for stealing various types of clothing, worth nearly RM680, at a shopping complex here two days ago.
Magistrate Zuhair Rosli handed down the sentence on Siti Mariani Daud, 30, who pleaded guilty to a charge of stealing the clothing, which included seven blouses and four pants, belonging to Sogo Complex, Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman here at 12.20pm last Oct 14.
She was ordered to serve the jail sentence from the date of her arrest on Oct 14.
Deputy public prosecutor Ahmad Zikri Jaafar prosecuted, while Siti Mariani was unrepresented. — Bernama
