12 individu dilantik sebagai ahli Lembaga Majlis Media Malaysia

12 ahli Lembaga Majlis Media Malaysia dilantik mewakili tiga kategori: syarikat media, wartawan dan persatuan media, serta orang awam dan NGO.

PETALING JAYA: Sebanyak 12 individu dipilih menganggotai Lembaga Majlis Media Malaysia (MMM) pada mesyuarat agung pertama majlis berkenaan hari ini, mewakili tiga kategori iaitu syarikat media, wartawan dan persatuan media serta orang awam dan pertubuhan bukan kerajaan (NGO).

Individu yang dipilih bagi kategori syarikat media ialah C Premesh yang merupakan bekas pengerusi interim MMM, Pengarang Kumpulan New Straits Times Farrah Naz Abd Karim, Ketua Pegawai Kandungan Star Media Group Berhad Datin Paduka Esther Ng Sek Yee dan Pengurus Besar The Borneo Post dan Utusan Borneo Wong Yang Yong.

Bagi kategori wartawan dan persatuan media, mereka yang dipilih ialah Mohamad Fauzi Ishak dari Gabungan Kelab Media Malaysia (GKMM), Mariah Airens Doksil (Persatuan Wartawan Sabah), Mohd Ishak Abdillah Ngah (Kelab Wartawan Terengganu) dan Adie Suri Zulkefli (Kelab Media Elit Kedah).

Bagi kategori orang awam dan NGO pula, individu dipilih ialah Zaharom Nain, Terence Ooi Guan Tseng, Cythia Lorraine Silva dan Medina Mahmood.

MMM merupakan badan bebas yang ditubuhkan sebagai mekanisme kawal selia kendiri industri media negara dan berperanan mempromosikan etika kewartawanan dan kebebasan media. – Bernama
