INFLUENCER Mary Magdalene shared a cryptic final Instagram post hours before falling to her death from a hotel balcony in Thailand.
The 33-year-old model, who claimed to have spent over US$500,000 (RM2.04 million) on plastic surgery, fell from the Patong Tower on Phuket Island.
Hotel staff found her body in a parking lot around 1.30pm local time on Tuesday.
Her last post, shared without a caption to her 136,000 followers, was a screenshot from the final scene of The Truman Show.
The clip shows Jim Carrey’s character saying, “In case I don’t see ya, good afternoon, good evening, and good night.”
She paired the video with a childhood photo, leading fans to speculate it was a deliberate farewell.
“She really cared enough about us to say goodbye,” one follower commented.
Others described it as her “final farewell” and a way of “saying goodbye to everyone”.
Police said she had checked into the hotel for a one-night stay and fell from the ninth-floor balcony shortly after arriving.
According to the Daily Mail, reception staff reported she went to her room and fell less than 10 minutes later.
“Inside her room, on the balcony, we found the deceased’s slippers left behind,” said Police Lieutenant Colonel Chanarong Prakongkuea of Patong police station.
The influencer also allegedly changed one of her Instagram handles to “MaryMagdaleneDied” before her death.
Her body was taken to Vachira Phuket Hospital for a post-mortem to determine the official cause.
Magdalene first gained online notoriety in 2018 after an illegal cosmetic procedure that required two blood transfusions.
She grew up in a strict religious household in Canada and began working as a stripper at age 17.
Her first cosmetic surgery at age 21 led to an addiction, with procedures including large breast implants and a full blackout tattoo.
Earlier this year, she suffered complications from an eyeball tattoo that left ink leaking and skin stained.
She ran a YouTube channel discussing her surgeries and society’s beauty standards.
“I really like surgeries, I like plastic surgery it’s one of my hobbies,” she said in one video.
