A viral TikTok video shows a man calmly guiding his group to safety after encountering a tiger near a forest
A heart-stopping encounter between a group of individuals and a wild tiger has captured widespread attention on social media after footage of the incident went viral on TikTok.
The dramatic video, shared by TikTok user @ilmi.narawi at an undisclosed location, shows the terrifying moment when a Malayan tiger emerged from a forested area and began walking directly toward the group who were in an open space near the jungle.
Despite the life-threatening situation, one man in the group displayed remarkable composure, calmly instructing his companions to retreat to their vehicle while the tiger stalked their movements.
The footage shows the level-headed individual maintaining his calm demeanor even as the wild animal followed closely behind them. He can be seen tapping dried tree branches together in an attempt to discourage the tiger from approaching further before carefully making his way back to the vehicle.
Throughout the tense encounter, the man issued clear warnings to a female member of the group, whom he addressed as “Puan,” and also alerted his friend Hairol, who had become separated from the main group, about the tiger’s presence.

The video has generated significant discussion among social media users, with many expressing concern and offering advice about staying vigilant when in areas where wildlife may be present.
“The brother’s backward walking technique was excellent,” commented user Ipin Barbershop, praising the man’s tactical retreat.
Another user, @mozekbesi, wrote: “It’s worrying to face a tiger. But this guy was so relaxed—if it were me, I don’t know what would happen.”
Some commenters reflected on broader environmental concerns. “Maybe there’s no food because the forest has all been cleared. So the tiger comes out to search for food,” user Badariah suggested.
“It’s sad to see this. The tiger population is already below 150, hopefully this national asset will always be protected,” added Syafiq, referencing Malaysia’s critically endangered tiger population.
Following concerns from netizens about Hairol’s whereabouts, Ilmi Narawi later shared an image showing his friend’s separated position from the group during the encounter.
A subsequent video posted separately showed the group successfully reaching their pickup truck and escaping the dangerous situation unharmed.
The incident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of exercising caution when venturing near forested areas and the need to respect wildlife boundaries, particularly as habitat loss increasingly brings humans and wild animals into closer contact.
