Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim cancels Pahang working visit after medical team advises rest due to back pain, PMO says.

KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has cancelled his scheduled working visit to Pahang today on medical advice.

The Prime Minister’s Office stated that the last-minute decision followed advice from Anwar’s medical team after he experienced back pain.

This back pain has restricted the Prime Minister’s movement, according to the official statement.

Anwar has been advised by his doctor to take adequate rest to recover.

The Prime Minister conveys his apologies, especially to the people of Pahang who had prepared to welcome him.

Anwar was scheduled to officiate the closing ceremony of the 2025 Hawkers and Small Traders Carnival in Temerloh.

He was also due to attend the Temu Anwar programme at the Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah Gambang Campus.

Another engagement session with Kuantan industry leaders at the Advanced Technology Training Centre in Kuantan was also planned.

The Prime Minister just returned to Malaysia yesterday after concluding his working visit to South Korea.

In South Korea, he led the Malaysian delegation to the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Economic Leaders’ Meeting last Friday.

Prior to that, Anwar chaired the 47th ASEAN Summit in the capital from October 26 to 28. – Bernama
