A 23-year-old man denies attempting to murder his three-year-old daughter in Pasir Puteh, with the court setting a mention date for February 25.
KOTA BHARU: A man pleaded not guilty in the Sessions Court here today to a charge of attempting to murder his three-year-old daughter earlier this month.
Mohamad Hairei Huzairiey Hazmi, 23, made the plea before Judge Zulkifli Abllah.
He was charged under Section 307 of the Penal Code for the alleged offence against Nur Helana Haura.
The incident is said to have occurred at about 7 am on January 14 at a house on Jalan Pak Mayong, near the Tok Bali Maritime Base in Pasir Puteh.
Deputy Public Prosecutor Siti Hajar Mazlan conducted the prosecution, while lawyer Muhammad Zulfaqar Al-Basysyar Saharrudin represented the accused.
The court did not allow bail and set February 25 for mention of the case.
