Police hunt three men over RM2 million safe heist in Taman Hillview

Police are searching for three suspects after a safe containing an estimated RM2 million was stolen from a house in Taman Hillview, Hulu Kelang.

KUALA LUMPUR: Police are hunting three men believed to have stolen a safe containing an estimated RM2 million from a house in Taman Hillview, Hulu Kelang.

The break-in occurred on December 26, with a police report lodged the same day at 12.15 pm by a worker at the residence.

Ampang Jaya district police chief ACP Khairul Anuar Khalid said the worker discovered the rear kitchen door had been forced open when she arrived to charge her employer’s electric vehicle battery.

“Further inspection found that a safe was missing from the master bedroom, with losses estimated at RM2 million,” he stated.

Khairul Anuar confirmed the investigation followed a viral 38-second CCTV video showing three capped men carrying a heavy object believed to be the safe.

Police initially detained six foreign nationals, including a woman, to assist with the investigation.

All six were released after questioning confirmed they were not involved in the crime.

Authorities are now tracking down the three primary suspects who remain at large.

The case is being investigated under Section 457 of the Penal Code for house-breaking. – Bernama
