“All 14 suspects arrested, aged between 24 and 54, are believed to be members of a secret society active in Penang,” said Azizee in a statement today.
He added that 10 of the total suspects have previous criminal and drug records.
Four suspects were initially arrested within 48 hours of the incident, which occurred at about 4.30 pm last Tuesday.
Azizee said the victims were drinking together at the restaurant before being attacked by more than 15 masked men armed with sharp objects.
The attack resulted in one man’s death and left two others injured.
Azizee confirmed that one victim who was reported to be in critical condition earlier is now stable.
All three victims were traders.
Police have also raided several areas believed to be gathering places for the group’s members.
These operations aim to track down the remaining suspects involved in the incident.
The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder. – Bernama
