Kuala Lumpur records 96.02% UPSRA pass rate with 9,327 candidates, improved GPA of 1.86, and 812 students achieving perfect scores
KUALA LUMPUR: The Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur achieved a 96.02% overall pass rate in the 2025 Ujian Pencapaian Sekolah Rendah Agama (UPSRA).
This represents a 1.63% improvement compared to the previous year’s results.
Federal Territory Islamic Religious Department (JAWI) deputy director of Operations Kamaldin Mohd Damin announced that 9,410 candidates from 215 registered institutions signed up for the examination.
He said 9,327 candidates were present while 83 were absent, indicating increased participation from 8,555 candidates in 2024.
“The overall Grade Point Average (GPA) was 1.86, an increase of 1.36% from last year,” he said in a statement today.
Kamaldin noted that 812 candidates, or 8.71%, obtained 9 Mumtaz (excellent) compared to 911 or 10.72% in 2024.
Among the nine subjects, Project-Based Learning (PBS) achieved a perfect 100% pass rate.
Al-Quran and Hafazan followed closely at 99.97% while Tajwid recorded a 98.15% pass rate.
Subjects such as Feqah, Tauhid, and Sirah showed significant improvements of 5.25%, 4.20% and 4.98% respectively.
Sekolah Integrasi Rendah Agama JAWI (SIRAJ) Saidina Uthman bin Affan was named the Best Overall Islamic Education Institution for its outstanding results.
Muhammad Muadz Mohd Fathullah from SIRAJ Abdullah Ibnu Mas’ud received the best male student award.
Ayesha Humairah Mohd Naseem from SRA Al-Furqan was honoured as the best female student. – Bernama
