MAG will operate over 2,400 flights for CNY 2026, with 198 extra services and subsidised fares to East Malaysia from Kuala Lumpur.

KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG) will operate more than 2,400 flights during the upcoming Chinese New Year travel period.

The group stated it will add up to 198 additional services operated by its airlines, Malaysia Airlines and Firefly.

These flights will operate across the CNY travel window between February 11 and February 23, 2026.

MAG said this is to ensure more Malaysians can travel home safely and reliably during the peak festive season.

Malaysia Airlines will operate up to 1,498 flights, including 130 additional services.

Firefly will operate up to 962 flights between February 13 and 23, with up to 68 extra services.

The expanded operations will support key domestic homecoming routes between Peninsular Malaysia and East Malaysia.

During the CNY peak period from February 13 to 16, both airlines will offer all-in, one-way subsidised fares from Kuala Lumpur.

Malaysia Airlines will offer subsidised fares of up to RM569 for flights to selected East Malaysia destinations.

These destinations include Kota Kinabalu, Tawau, Sandakan, Labuan, Kuching, Miri, Sibu, and Bintulu.

Firefly will offer subsidised fares of up to RM548 for all-in, one-way flights from Kuala Lumpur.

Its selected destinations include Kota Kinabalu, Tawau, Kuching, and Sibu.
