A tyre from a tipper lorry struck a car on the SKVE near Sepang, causing damage but no injuries, with police investigating under road traffic laws.
SEPANG: A car was struck by a tyre that detached from a tipper lorry on the South Klang Valley Expressway (SKVE) last night.
Sepang district police chief ACP Norhizam Bahaman (pic) said the incident occurred at around 8 pm on Jalan Kajang-Puchong.
He confirmed no injuries were reported from the accident.
Initial investigations found the lorry’s left rear tyre burst and came off while the vehicle was travelling from Kajang to Puchong.
The detached tyre fell from a flyover and hit the roof of a black Proton Satria Neo, causing damage.
Both drivers, aged in their 20s and 30s, have lodged police reports at the Sepang District Police Headquarters.
Norhizam stated both men were found to possess valid driving licences.
The case is being investigated under Section 43(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for careless and inconsiderate driving.
He advised the public not to speculate on the incident.
Norhizam also urged anyone with information to contact investigating officer Insp Nurul Sakela Ramli.
