A 20-year-old man died and his 15-year-old brother was injured after their car skidded into a two-metre-deep drain in Sungai Besar
SHAH ALAM: A 20-year-old man was killed while his 15-year-old brother was injured after their car skidded and plunged into a drain.
The Selangor Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) said the accident involved a Proton Wira at Jalan Bendang 4, Sungai Besar.
Operations assistant director Ahmad Mukhlis Mokhtar said the department received an emergency call at 5.40 pm.
A team from the Sungai Besar Fire and Rescue Station arrived at the scene eight minutes later.
“The accident involved a Proton Wira that skidded and ended up in a drain estimated to be about two-metre-deep,” he said in a statement.
He said the 15-year-old boy had been pulled out by members of the public before rescuers arrived.
The teenager was found unconscious and treated on site by Health Ministry personnel before being rushed to hospital.
The search and rescue operation continued for the second victim.
The 20-year-old man was found at a rubbish trap about 150 metres from the accident scene at 6.55 pm.
He was confirmed dead at 7.10 pm.
