Floods in Borneo: Pahang Sultan, Tengku Ampuan express sympathy to victims

Sultan of Pahang and Tengku Ampuan convey prayers and sympathy to flood victims in Sarawak and Sabah as relief centres shelter thousands.

KUANTAN: The Sultan of Pahang, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, and Tengku Ampuan Pahang Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah expressed their sympathy to flood victims in Sarawak and Sabah.

The Pahang Sultanate, through a post on its Facebook page, stated that Al-Sultan Abdullah and Tunku Azizah also conveyed their prayers that all matters affecting those impacted by the disaster would be eased, and that they would be granted strength and fortitude in facing this ordeal.

“Their Majesties said that the people of Borneo are always close to their hearts and always in their minds and pray that all their affairs would be eased by Allah SWT,” according to the post.

Bernama reported that the number of flood victims in Sarawak continued to show an increasing trend, with 41 relief centres (PPS) opened until today to accommodate 3,890 victims from 1,175 families, compared to 3,546 victims from 1,030 families in 40 PPS last night.

 In Sabah, it was reported that 367 people from 137 families are taking shelter in two PPS as of 8 am today, compared to 363 people from 136 families yesterday evening.
