Kedah expels students after violent school fight incident

Kedah Education Department suspends and expels students involved in school fighting incident, stressing zero tolerance for bullying and violence

ALOR SETAR: The Kedah State Education Department has suspended and expelled a group of students involved in a recent school fight.

Department officials described the incident as a serious violation requiring strict disciplinary measures.

“The school has completed a thorough internal investigation,” the department stated.

“Strict punishment of suspension and expulsion from school has been taken against the students.”

Authorities have also taken action in the case following the violent altercation.

“The Kedah JPN stresses that there is no compromise on the issue of bullying, violence and student misconduct,” the statement emphasized.

All educational institutions in the state must comply with current disciplinary management procedures.

Schools are required to prioritize student safety and implement preventive interventions.

These measures aim to preserve the well-being of all educational staff members.

Earlier reports indicated a Form Four male student was found unconscious in a school dormitory toilet.

The student is believed to have been beaten by a group of students on Monday.

Kuala Muda police chief ACP Hanyan Ramlan confirmed four male students were arrested.

The suspects, aged 16 and 17, were taken into custody for investigation.

A 16-year-old student has been remanded for three days to assist with the investigation. – Bernama
