MAF senior officer remanded six days in RM150,000 graft probe

A Malaysian Armed Forces senior officer is remanded for six days over alleged bribery involving RM150,000 linked to camp supply contracts.

MELAKA: A senior Malaysian Armed Forces officer has been remanded for six days to assist in a corruption investigation involving approximately RM150,000.

Magistrate Uthman Abd Ghani issued the remand order against the man, who is in his 40s.

The suspect was arrested at the Melaka Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission office.

A source stated the officer is believed to have solicited and received bribes totalling about RM150,000 in 2024.

The alleged offences are linked to raw material supply work for a camp where he served as commanding officer.

The source added the bribes were allegedly received in cash from five companies awarded supply contracts.

These contracts were for maintenance work on a store at the camp.

Melaka MACC director Datuk Adi Supian Shafie confirmed the arrest.

The case is being investigated under Section 16(a)(B) of the MACC Act 2009.
