Malaysia reaffirms call for comprehensive Palestinian solution – PM Anwar

PM Anwar Ibrahim says any Palestinian solution must recognise rights and end Israeli oppression, following calls with Qatar and Egypt

PUTRAJAYA: Malaysia has reaffirmed its position that a lasting solution to the Palestinian conflict must be comprehensive and based on universal justice.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim stated this must include recognition of Palestinian rights and an end to Israeli oppression and occupation.

He made the remarks after a telephone call with Qatar Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani.

The Qatari leader briefed Anwar on recent developments in peace efforts for West Asia.

Anwar said the Qatar leader noted Islamic nations welcomed a US-led peace initiative but doubts remain due to Israeli violations.

“We will continue to assert clearly and decisively that any solution must recognise the rights of the Palestinian people, including those in Gaza, and end the oppression, occupation and colonisation by the Israeli regime,” Anwar said.

He was speaking at the closing of the Rancakkan MADANI Bersama Malaysiaku programme.

The Prime Minister also revealed he was contacted by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi.

Egypt conveyed its readiness to host a special conference on Gaza’s recovery and invited Malaysia as a co-convener.

“We are cooperating and examining the modalities of the programme, as upholding universal justice is our responsibility,” he said. – Bernama

Alfa Romeo Marks the Quadrifoglio Legacy with Exclusive Giulia and Stelvio Collezione Models

Alfa Romeo has introduced two highly exclusive creations, the Giulia Quadrifoglio Collezione and Stelvio Quadrifoglio Collezione, developed in tribute to one of the brand’s most enduring icons — the Quadrifoglio. The emblem, first painted onto Ugo Sivocci’s Alfa Romeo RL when he won the 1923 Targa Florio, became the mark of the brand’s racing machinery for decades. In 1963 it shifted from the circuit to the road with the Giulia Ti Super, and from then on it distinguished Alfa Romeo’s most powerful and exclusive road-going models. That pivotal year forms the inspiration for this new Collezione series, which has been limited to just 63 units worldwide. Two Giulia units have been earmarked for the UK, while the rest will be distributed across Europe, the Middle East, China and Japan.
