Pahang Sultan and Tengku Ampuan provide food aid to flood victims

The Sultan and Tengku Ampuan of Pahang have graciously contributed meals to evacuees at two relief centres in Kuantan

KUANTAN: The Sultan of Pahang, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, and the Tengku Ampuan of Pahang, Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah, have graciously contributed food to flood victims here.

The royal contribution was delivered by the Sultan’s Comptroller of the Royal Household, Major General Datuk Mohamed Zahari Yahya.

Distribution was carried out on the first day in collaboration with the Pahang Sultanate Disaster Relief Team.

It involved two temporary evacuation centres at Taman Sri Mahkota and Wisma Belia in Indera Mahkota.

Flood victim Nur Izzati Abdul Halim expressed her deep appreciation for the royal couple’s concern.

The 37-year-old mother of three said she never expected to receive a meal from the palace kitchen for dinner.

“Alhamdulillah, my deepest gratitude to Your Majesty; this is a blessing for us here,” she said.

She added that she was very grateful because the food supply at the centre had been constant.

“Before we even feel hungry, the food has already arrived,” she noted. – Bernama
